Remembering Torrin Breneman

Torrin was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma September 25, 2017 which was 5 months after he donated his hair to wigs for kids.

When he was told he had cancer he said, so when treatment is done I can say I’m a cancer survivor and was proud. However, we had no idea he would lose this battle. He passed away on 12/15/2018.

The above was written by his mother.

I wanted to add what I knew about this brave young warrior. Torrin had an amazing and kind heart. He left gifts behind at the hospital for kids who would be in there during Christmas. This inspired a local radio station to do the same thing. Torrin was now in no condition to receive gifts. If he would have received them, he probably would have left them behind again. So Mojo in the morning on 95.5 provided gifts for the kids at Detroit Children's Hospital on behalf of Torrin.

Torrin was passionate about pro wrestling. He was actually one of my favorite gift kids. We took him to an XICW pro wrestling show in downtown Detroit. Not only did he get to witness a night of pro wrestling action. He received first class treatment from all the superstars on the show. When I went over to his house and presented him this gift we had a long talk about wrestling. I even called my friend Terry (former WWE and ECW superstar Rhyno) so he could talk with him.

We talked about his trips to see the WWE and meet with a bunch of their superstars. One thing I made sure to tell him is how proud I was of him. It wasn't just about how brave he was in his battle with cancer. It was something he did before he was diagnosed with cancer.

This gesture was so amazing it was covered by People magazine. Click here to read.

Meeting Torrin was inspiring. I'm proud to have been a small part of his life and continue to be a part of his families lives today.

Bless you Torrin. You are missed by all that knew you.

Sincerely written on behalf of the Breneman family.

JD Marshall.
