September is childhood cancer awareness month. A lot of people believe that childhood cancer is rare.

• Globally 300,000 kids a year are diagnosed with cancer

• The number #1 cause of death by disease in children is cancer

• 1 out of 8 children with cancer will not survive

• Every 3 minutes a family hears the devastating words that their child has been diagnosed with cancer

• Average age of cancer diagnosis, Adults 67 years old and kids 6 years old

Childhood cancer is not rare and in some cases there is no chance of survival. One of the reasons for that is a serious lack of funding for research.

Less than 4% of the federal budget for cancer research is dedicated to childhood cancer.

How can you help raise awareness and research funding for childhood cancer.

• Donate to Independent research

• Contact your state rep about kids being worth more than 4

• Hold a childhood cancer rally in your area

There is nothing worse than hearing your child has cancer.

Except in our case where we heard our daughter had no chance of survival.

No child ever asked to be part of this battle. At the very least, we should be able to provide them with what they need to win this battle.
